One of the most awaited bikes of India is just launched! The YZF-R15 has hit the tarmac and is ready to be on sale soon. The bookings have begun and the deliveries will soon start. The media people got a chance to ride laps on that bike at the Chennai track yesterday. From what they have to say, I can surely comment that this is the best bike that Indian market has seen till now.
The R15 is one hell of an awesome handler. And it’s much quicker through the corners than any other bike available in India. I am not considering the Yamaha R1 here. That might be the fastest bike (legally) available in India, but it’s not in the competition. The R15 is supposedly the fastest bike of the lot as well. Here I am also considering the bigger engine bikes like the 200 and 220 cc bikes.
We can truly judge the bike against others when we have all the competitors together. A proper shootout between the R15, RTR160, P200, P220 and Karizma would do for a great fight! The fact that 150 cc bike will be better performing than higher capacity bikes sounds a bit tough, but it is going to be the outcome of a brilliantly engineered R15.
I am just waiting for getting astride the bike and getting some first hand experience with the YZF-R15. Let’s hope this happens soon. Till then keep reading what others have to say!!!
